At an early stage in the project, Spacesix Architects will carry out a feasibility study to assess the viability of your plans and potentially limit your exposure to unnecessary costs.
Architects services: The feasibility study will enable you to get the best from the proposals
We will develop 2D or 3D computer generated sketch proposals of your project in full collaboration with you to ensure the finished product will meet with your requirements. We will consult with a structural engineer, to establish their expert views and incorporate their recommendations within the design where necessary.
Once an agreed design has been reached we will obtain a budget cost for the works by either consulting a quantity surveyor or by obtaining budget costs from trusted building contractors. Thereafter, we will make an appointment with the local planning authority and attend a pre-application meeting with the area planning officer to discuss the proposals. The outcome of this meeting will be relayed back to the client and the design adjusted if necessary.
Architects services: Completion of the feasibility study
A successful feasibility study can take between 4 – 8 weeks to conclude. However, we cannot stress enough how vital it is to fully consider the project at the outset. Experience has taught us that this period saves our clients time and money in the long run by flushing out any issues before they arise. On completion of the feasibility study we will have an agreed design, established a budget cost for the works and have a feedback from the planning department in order to be in a position to submit a formal application for planning approval with confidence.
